There are the beastly wines of the Barossa but this is not one of them, yes there is richness and loads of flavour but fruit is handled with finesse and the thrill of fine acidity makes for a very sippable wine dispute its alcohol warmth. Boysenberries, Morello cherries and persimmon skin. There is dried orange, coffee beans and rye seed. Some bone broth savoury elements mix with the brown clay and turned earth that anchors the fruit. The lasting impression is that of ripe fruit and rounded curves of plushness, with an echo of tiramisu moreishness. A very hand wine and one to decant and enjoy with good friends and maybe a large roast beef with all the trimmings.
