Schubert Estate The Lone Goose Shiraz 2018

Share

A co-ferment of Shiraz and Viognier with the latter just a splash of three per cent. What does Viognier bring? That attractive deep red-purple colour glistens and catches the eye – that’s Viognier at work. Lots of everything on offer here which, it might be said, is the Schubert Estate way. Christmas cake, chocolate, dusty cocoa, black fruits, high spice, woodsmoke oak provide a rich and luscious, dense and chewy wine. Generous, robust tannins do their work, too. It’s another highly convincing big-hearted Barossa Shiraz, one of many from the Schubert Estate stable, that caresses rather than pummels.
