Seppelt Mt Ida Vineyard Shiraz 2022

Share

Established in 1978 by famous artist, Leonard French and Dr James Munro, the Mt Ida old vine vineyard on ancient, Cambrian soils combines the richness of Heathcote Shiraz with a mineral-edged intensity. The result is one impressive Shiraz. Deep, impenetrable purple. A complex styling of the grape married to a distinctive regional flavour profile rich in black fruits – cassis, blackberry – with bush mint, earth, liquorice and lively spice to the fore. That Cambrian earthy, minerality brings a natural, well-defined elegance to what is a generous palate. Dare I suggest a degree of finesse, too. Texturally strong, finishing with good length. Plenty to enjoy here both now and later.
