An impressive estate wine that comes from a serious amount of detailed work in the vineyards across the Hills – for a start 12 separate clones that bring a range of complex characters into play before 18 months maturation in larger oak formats, 30% new. The red to crimson fruit profile is perfectly sweet and spicy, the latter a sprinkling of ground white pepper. Medium bodied with a decent presence of tannins in the mouthfeel, the wine is neatly balanced and structured. Most desirable, and terrific value in terms of its detail.
