Sorby Adams The Thing Shiraz 2017

Share

Simon Adams knows a thing or two about making shiraz after his years with Yalumba many years ago, and now with his own thing, like this appropriately named The Thing. This is classic Barossa from the first sniff through the final lick of the lips. It’s a blend of Eden Valley and Barossa shiraz, displaying both elegance and real power, as the more robust Barossa wraps its paws around the gentle Eden Valley. Bursting with aromas of dark chocolate and earthy ripe plum. The oak – well get this, it’s had 40 months in oak, yet it doesn’t smack of an excessive oak influence, and the integration in the palate is excellent. This is almost old school Barossa with a modern refined twist. You have to luv ’em.
