Sordo Ravera Barolo 2017

Share

Ravera is near the southwestern reaches of the Barolo zone, exposed to cooling breezes from the nearby Cottian Alps. Ravera might have been known to produce somewhat austere examples in the past, but now with the warmer temperatures, they are among the most supple Barolos.

Fading roses lead the way for generous blackberry, dark plum, and blood orange layered with savoury leather and rust. Ripe and round on the palate, displaying sinewy tannins morphing into a lingering chalkiness. Like a dialled-up and riper version of the Barolo Classico marked with a lasting energetic sour cherry acidity! It’s approachable, generous and delicious, with plenty of dark fruit to support the framework in the long run.
