From the Serralunga d’Alba municipality, stepping into deeper and darker corners of varietal style. Inky to iodine edges to the nose stay the course here, along with fleshy, peppery tobacco leaf and black tea – heaps to pack into a vinous and complex palate yet incredibly juicy at the same time. That tea also brings its tannins, giving breadth, and texture, and a sense of built in power. How all this action can remain medium weight and elegant is confounding yet exhilarating.
