Inky to iodine edges to the nose stay the course here, along with fleshy, peppery tobacco leaf and black tea – heaps to pack into a vinous and complex palate yet incredibly juicy at the same time. That tea also brings its tannins, giving breadth, and texture, and a sense of built in power. How all this action can remain medium weight and elegant is confounding yet exhilarating.
