Tasmania is leading the charge when it comes to sparkling wines with both the biggest and boutique wineries now releasing some exceptional wines, and this is one of them.
Pale coppery golden in colour, the wine instantly shows its pedigree with a very fine silky bead and highly complex aromas from ageing on yeast lees. There is a powerful core of fruit with pear, citrus and strawberry aromas lifted by French pastry and brioche. It is then quite a powerful, mouthfilling and creamy style but retains its delicacy with toasty citrus fruits and more pastry then leading to a long and silky finish. A superb wine now that also has plenty of potential to improve in the bottle.
