Tahbilk Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2018

Share

Let’s call it almost an equal split of grenache, syrah and mourvedre. It is no surprise that these varieties work well together: their synergic relationship is, in fact, particularly evident in this wine.

There is an immediate red berry perfume, not quite stewed, but almost as if berries left hanging on the bush were warmed up on a hot sunny day. In second row, there is a layer of black plum and bazar spices. The palate is supple and loaded with juicy berries and plum, but then the mourvedre comes into play with its game and bitter herb flavours to put a break on the fruitiness.
