Taltarni Pyrenees Chardonnay 2023

Share

Taltarni has been around since the last 1960s, and that pedigree is easy to see in their wines. The Chardonnay is a delightful drop, displaying enticing, vibrant aromatics from the moment you open the bottle. The nose shows a complex mix of fruity and savoury characters – nectarine, peach, lemon, straw, almond and yoghurt – which are very pretty and sweet. The palate is silky and creamy, with mouth-filling flavours and energetic acidity, and the aromas are mimicked on the palate. I liked this wine a lot, judging by the fact that it was finished in one night (not all by me). It’s a great indicator of the quality of wine coming out of the Pyrenees region.
