Tapanappa Cabernet Franc Merlot 2016

This is a very Australian expression of a classic Bordeaux Right Bank blend. It is bold and big – a deeply coloured and flavoured style but also with some serious structure. This is a wine that will live long and prosper.

It is bright deep ruby in colour and shows multiple layers of ripe, fleshy fruits. There is blackberry and cassis fruits plus baked earth and violets lifted by touches of cocoa and olive tapenade. In the mouth it is dry and ripe showing the savoury vanillin elements from long oak ageing. The fruit is complex and plush sitting on top of a tannic, robust palate. This is a wine that is built for the cellar with a long life ahead.
