A combination of whole berries and bunches, basket pressed to concrete and old puncheons. Here the McLaren Vale aromatics take shape in blue fruit, juniper, blueberries and lilac. Spices are round, dark and earthy. Clove, Pepperberries and dark cardamom. Some ripe red fruit pops its head up on the palate and tannins are firm but well suited to the spectrum of fruit and spice. This consistently has its identity intact, you know your in for vibrancy and just the right amount of concentration for drinking on release or aging for 2-3 years further. This wine says, please drink me with pulled pork tacos, don’t over complicate it. Stringy, juicy pork with charred crispy bits too, pica de gallo and squeezed lime. Voila.
