Vigneti Boveri Giacomo Piccolo Derthona 2022

Share

It’s all about powdery green apple flesh and fresh cut lemon straight off, with the purity on display early. Delicate cinnamon spice and under-ripe white peach follow, before making way for the classic saline, briney notes and crushed rock mineral detail so consistent in these wines, even at Piccolo level. It’s these notes that bring the morishness, the salty goodness! There’s no shortage of flavour to the palate, which is much akin to the nose. It’s so controlled and contained, however, trapped in a frame of briney acidity bringing it all into linear focus. Salted lemon, sea spray, green apple flesh and skin, white peach. Ample texture tussles with the acidity and bitter phenolics, with the latter two winning out and pulling long to a saline-drenched close.
