A Cabernet blend – no other details available – but you get the general idea. It’s a terrific Cabernet combo, one that gives full rein to the aromatic power that such a blend can bring, together with an interesting, savoury, wild side. With full ripeness (14% abv) on board the aromas are rich in black fruit intensity, dried herbs, black olive, earth and truffle notes. The palate is ample and fleshy, sporting stylish smoky, pencil shavings oak and Aussie bush notes among the layers of dark berries and spice. Oak is a smidge forward, but this is a wine with time on its hands. It’s got a long life ahead and those oak tannins and complexity will be called upon.
