The attractive cherry blossom label is one reason to buy this Rosé. The other reason is flavour which, true to the label, comes in cherry and spiced strawberry aromas, watermelon and earthy acacia notes. The blend of Shiraz (90%) and Sangiovese (10%) works especially well here with fermentation in seasoned barrels adding a textural component with good weight. The palate has a depth of summer-bright flavours with a dryness and brisk acidity that makes it one versatile Rosé whether it’s for solo drinking or at the table. The spiciness that engages with the berries and fruit on the palate adds that extra something together with an earthiness. A Central Ranges Rosé worth searching out.
