Yering Station Village Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Small open fermenters, daily pumpovers and hand plunged. 8 months maturation in the barrel in which 18% was new. Bramble, black cherry and pomegranate, there is a macerated strawberry compote and the new oak adds the layering of deep spice to bring this wine into new levels of detail and value. There is a plumpness and savoury red gum bark too, some vanilla pod and cocoa bean. I think wines that sit in this price range, particularly Pinot Noir should be commended for offering a range of fruit, spice and fine tannin. It’s not easy to do and once again shows why reaching for a bottle of Yering Station is so justified yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Village and Little Yering wines have been a saving grace in many a buying tight spot. Drink Now with sausage rolls, pasties and bravo.
