Matured for 17 months in puncheons and barrel, of which 10% was new oak. Prune plums, boysenberry and olive tapenade. Allspice berries, juniper and blackberry pie. A subtle hint of rosemary stem and quills of cinnamon. Soft licorice rounds out the finish. Acidity drives the wine with silky tannins and a satisfying chew to the wine. This is both lifted aromatically with plenty of black and red fruit density. An absolute steal at the price point. Buy in bulk and drink with an onion, anchovy and olive pizza or supreme would work pretty well too. Terrific wine!
