Allan Scott Marlborough Pinot Noir 2018

Share

Allan Scott is one of the pioneers in Marlborough with vines planted all the way back in 1975, which is old by New Zealand standards. And the old boy knows a thing about crafting quality Pinot Noir in New Zealand’s home of Sauvignon Blanc.

This is classic Marlborough – not big like Central Otago or the spicy wines from Martinborough, but full of juicy red fruits. It is pretty and restrained with loads of wild strawberry, earthy and spicy fruits which then leads to a mid-weight and crisp palate with a touch of tobacco complexity, with a lingering fine finish. Lots to like here.
