Allegiance Wines The Artisan McLaren Vale Grenache 2022

The 2022 vintage followed the legendary ’21, but in McLaren Vale, it was also a superb year with its own attributes. The fermentation included both whole berries and whole bunches. The wine then spent eight months in older French oak puncheons. A deep garnet colour, we have aromas weaving through notes of warm earth, red fruits, cherries, herbs and floral characters. Quite a sleek and supple texture, the wine offers that classic mix of silky and silty tannins. With a lingering finish, this will drink very well for the next half dozen years.
