Brockenchack Mackenzie William 1896 Riesling 2021

Share

Eden Valley is a celebrated region for riesling. The high, cool hills deliver a particularly individual style. It’s like a big
bouquet of flowers arrived in the glass. Mackenzie William has it and then some; apple blossom, jasmine, citrus, lime and orchard aromatics lead the way. It captures the essence of Spring. There’s a wine tasting term that succinctly sums up one of the big attractions of Eden Valley riesling – line and length. It indicates a strong, structural line of acidity, not hard or aggressive but naturally endowed that provides the tension between fruit and acidity that drives the wine long. It’s here in this wine, and together with the aromatics, the fineness of citrus fruit – but it’s early days, still in building mode, Mackenzie William can look forward to a fruitful, long life in the bottle.
