Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Sirius Shiraz 2022

Share

There is something quite heavenly about this brilliant McLaren Vale Shiraz. Initially, it’s the name Alpha Crucis, the brightest star of the Southern Cross, and then it’s the wine, a medium-bodied elegantly poised expression of Shiraz. The fruit comes from the Hickinbotham Vineyard at Clarendon and the Heritage Vineyard near the town of McLaren vale. A combination of largely traditional techniques including a percentage of whole bunches from both vineyards was used in creating a wine that captures the vibrance and energy of this variety in a very good season. There’s cellaring potential but it is such a good wine to drink when still quite young.
