Golding Bel Mosaico Sparkling Rosé 2022

The blush of this sparkling sits between watermelon and a lighter blood orange tone, the fruit a mix of three Pinot Noir clones from the Lenswood district, made via the Charmat method where the bubbles of second fermentation occur in stainless steel tanks rather than the bottle. It’s not about Champagne like complexities, but more fruit expression, definitely the strawberries of Pinot in the forward pocket, developing into summer berry pudding and a suggestion of Pimms No.1 Cup, a note of sweet berry (residual sugar recorded at 10gms/litre) that is offset by a delicate dash of blood orange like acidity in the exit. A definite vibe of Aperol Spritz in its styling – bang on for summer fun.
