Handpicked Capella Vineyard Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2023

Share

A mix of MV6 and 115 tipped into open fermenters and aged in French oak of which 33% was new. Colour here already indicates the quality of berries, this could be years younger on sight. A focused line of red and black cherries, some fresh raspberry and lilac florals. The palate drives Christmas cherries home with lingering tobacco pouch and gritty but chewy tannins. A wine with purity and poise. Pumice stone and friable grey rock finishes its mineral tone. A no brainer when it comes to cellarability, say another 4-5 years further. A nice wine for greeting dusk with a pork terrine en croute.
