The Lepus Shiraz represents the pinnacle of winemaking from this team. The fruit comes from the estate vineyard at Marananga, for many one of the very best sub-regions in the Barossa Valley. Opaque maroon in hue, this is beautifully crafted with the nose exhibiting notes of chocolate, cassis, blackberries, coffee beans, mocha, dried herbs, aniseed, bay leaves, mulberries and cocoa powder. Seamless and supple, with good intensity and length, through to very fine silky tannins, the structure is immaculate, as is the balance. This is a cracker. Fifteen to twenty years will be a doddle for it.
