Heirloom Vineyards Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019

Share

Really impressed with this Barossa Shiraz which does a great job at balancing the region’s natural generosity of fruit with more savoury elements, which 18 months aging in American and French oak has brought together nicely. It starts off with a traditionally rich frame of dark fruit aromas – mulberry and blackberry particularly with an attractive dusting of ground spices and sweet oak. It’s then rich and fleshy in the mouth, rippling with blue fruits with some baked earth and terracotta flavours before a finish of reasonable length. It’s quite supple and open knit for immediate enjoyment but has enough fine tannins to also drink well over the medium term.
