An absolute stunner! From the first sniff, the first taste, you are entering classic aged Riesling territory that is all class. Both fruit, acidity and aged characters combine to produce a beautifully complex wine still quite youthful and vital – punchy in fresh acidity, to be precise – and showing what we sometimes miss out on when we consume a good Riesling way too young. The scent carries honey, lemon curd, high spices, buttered toast, lemon balm and the most attractive, deep honeysuckle aromatics. The palate is seamless, honeyed and inviting, intense in fruit and a complex meshing of citrus, spice, florals and honeyed toast. It runs effortlessly long. Bravo!
