Kerri Greens Mornington Peninsula Messire Pinot Noir 2023

Share

Pinot Noir demands time – both to develop in bottle and then in the glass – and the Messire is a case in point. It’s a brash young thing right after pouring but mellows the longer it breathes, its aromas and flavours coming together in cohesion to offer something really lovely. There’s a pretty even mix between fruity and savoury characters here, such as sour cherry, wild strawberry, black cherry, forest floor, herbs and beetroot, plus some stemminess. The palate is silky and quite rich, the dusty tannins giving it some interest and grip in the mouth. It’s still a relative baby so I recommend allowing it a bit more time to mature in order to see it at its best.
