St Hugo Signature Collection Barossa Shiraz 2018

Share

From what was a warm vintage comes this surprisingly refined and even elegant Barossan Shiraz – blockbuster fans turn away now. Deep ruby in colour, aromas are still robust but there is also a delicacy to them – blackberry, chocolate, sweet fruit pastilles, impressively handled and balanced oak with an earthy core adding interest. Very well pitched in the mouth, there is a youthful brightness and freshness to red and dark fruits with subtle leathery complexity supported by firm but fine tannins – the whole package well balanced so, while already drinking well, it clearly has plenty in the tank.
