Knappstein Clare Valley Pinot Gris 2024

A lot of regions have stuck up their hand to claim they are Australia’s best Pinot Gris district. The Clare is proving itself worthy of being right at the head of the queue. A very pale straw colour, the nose here is quite pungent. The wine is tight and poised, with notes of florals and pears, a touch of ginger and a chalky backing. A wine of medium length, good focus and pinprick acidity. Enjoy this now and any time over the next three to four years.
