Pinot Gris takes a walk on the gently savoury side and, in doing so, reveals yet again its versatility as a grape. The scent is deep with touches of savouriness in almond skin, honeysuckle, ginger, spiced apple, Meyer lemon and wet slate. Fermentation in French oak followed by time on lees brings added flavour intrigue and complexity on the palate with an almond nuttiness and nougat.  While Gris texture is on show, so creamy, it is matched by clean, bright acidity contributing backbone and length. All up, one smart wine and smart price.
