A Tempranillo that takes its lead from its varietal homeland, investing in savouriness and a tannin-taut approach which immediately makes it a wine to be enjoyed with food. Structure is important here. Good colour with dark cherries, plum, spice, earth and leather aromas. The palate opens savoury and dark in a big mouthful of black fruits, earth, liquorice, bitter chocolate and exotic spices. Expressive, taut tannins surround the wine, vanillin/savoury oak assists, before finishing dry and astringent. The fruit was sourced from the Ferguson Valley in the Geographe wine region, north of Margaret River, an area to watch when it comes to Tempranillo.
