La Sorda Vendimia Seleccionada Rioja 2017

Share

Old school Rioja is a beautiful thing – rustic fruit and oak coming together to deliver unique wines with plenty of personality. This example is from Rioja’s Alavesa sub-region and shows good fruit concentration with its deep colour and rich ripe fruit. Aromas are classic Rioja with tarry, tobacco and raspberry fruits matched up with old oak. It is then dry and mid-weight with plenty of fruit well balanced with grainy tannins that support a lingering finish. As a package it has the character to drink well on its own but probably best matched up with char-grilled lamb cutlets.
