Note at first the vivid purple colour of this Hills Shiraz, which telegraphs what follows in its bright blueish floral nasals, top-noting subtle woody bush floor characters underneath. Palate-wise it’s all about fresh plum and dark-cherry fruit flavours, backed in by subtle French oak spicing courtesy of 30% new barrel treatment. A solid wine without being heavy or over-bearing – good looking Hills Shiraz.
