Mania Tamar Valley Pinot Noir 2020

Tasmania is a very diverse wine region and we are only just starting to understand how the great island ticks. What Tamar can undoubtedly do well is wines with great upfront appeal from a young age and with plenty of proper pinot character. Here is a great example, mid cherry red in colour before it launches into an array of cranberry and dried herb fruits with oak in the background. It is then quite ripe and fleshy for a Tassie Pinot with generous red and dark cherry fruits supported by silky tannins that drive quite a long finish. It is not built for the cellar but is a delicious wine for casual dining matched with duck pancakes.
