Is Sunbury warm or cooler in climate? One taste of this textural and finely delivered young Chardonnay, and the answer would seem to fall in the latter category. There is a delicacy in aroma led by white flowers, Meyer lemon, citrus, grapefruit and spice. It comes to life on the palate with crisp, super bright acidity – Sunbury Chardonnays are noted for their acidity – working hand in hand with honeysuckle florals, a strong, attractive vein of citrus, quince and a light spiciness. The moment belongs to the fruit which is handled with care. And then there’s the smooth textural run of the wine – a point of quality.
