An arresting aromatic profile opens with white grapefruit, lemon pith, cheese cloth and sliced fennel, before air unlocks subtler tones of quality honey and macadamia. A glimmer of cedar dust sits in the background, adding interest, alongside nut brittle notes with further aeration. The palate follows suit with an engaging mix of savoury and fruit elements: cheese cloth, lemon pith and white grapefruit again to the fore, supported by green almond bitterness and saline acidity that draw the wine to solid length. There’s ample texture to hold it all together. A compelling Fiano—true to varietal character, with an extra edge thrown in. It works, and very well.
