And clearly Sangiovese thrives here in this sector of the Sunbury region northwest of Melbourne, threading both its red fruits and laurel leafiness into a smart, mid-weight wine that has distinctive texture in its tannin profiling – fruit tea verging on hibiscus flower infusion – its palate energy and finish cries out for a robust Osso Bucco.
