I was quite surprised to see that the ABV for this Sangiovese is only 11.5%, as it’s ripe and doesn’t show any signs of under ripeness. In fact, it leads with a confectionery note like strawberry topping, before revealing raspberry, red cherry, mint and herbs. It’s incredibly juicy on the palate, with a very appealing spiciness, and it pairs really well with food, from cheese to meat. It holds up on the second night but you may not notice if you finish it all on the first.
