Ottelia Riesling 2025

Share

Ohhhhh, a Riesling that leads with minerality and texture. How indulgent. Nectarine kernel, soft silver-rocks (whatever that means) and mango-seed flesh. It’s smart and soft-spoken, yet smug enough to sit back with wry amusement at the youngsters. Lime sherbet, grapefruit pith, torn orange blossom. I’m really enjoying the dialled-up phenolics that frame the fruit weight and saltiness — it slaps, really. The generosity is very noticeable on the mid-palate, giving sweet fruit and more pith. Rugged acid leaves the finish clean and dry. It’s serious, but not too serious… and I’m about it.
