Pikes Olga Emmie Riesling 2020

Share

Following the full Pikes riesling regime, free-run juice from Polish Hill River blocks and three months on lees. The critical difference is this wine is what many describe as “mid-sweet” or “off-dry” styling, and I can assure you there’s nothing “off” about it. Pikes call theirs “half dry” bringing this in at 41g/litre of residual sugar. There’s only the slightest aromatic hint to begin that this is in the Germanic Spatlese zone, a light honey over citrus note, before the palate delivers it’s flavourful statement – limes with a dusting of caster sugar, subtle musk, mint leaf gel as well with a delicious light talc finish. A generous welcome mat for riesling novices and great with aromatic and chilli-hot Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
