Smithbrook Pinot Noir 2022

Share

Pemberton, single vineyard. Rather plump fruited, red cherries with a tea leaf astringency. Dried earth fringes and hints of tart cranberry. A little simple, with a bit of heat on the throat, reminding one of the warmth of the year, also seen in the alcohol level of 14.5%. Slightly over-ripe strawberries, watermelon rind and some lovely spice on the mid-palate. Acidity keeps things fresh, though it’s slightly out of sync. Drink now to 5 years.
