Stella Bella Otro Vino Tempranillo Shiraz Malbec 2022

A meeting of three not necessarily like-minded red grapes and voila! It works a treat. You gotta love the Aussie “give it a go” winemaking approach which sees creative alliances like this fall effortlessly into the glass. It’s a particularly attractive Spanish/French varietal combo, a joyous, fun kind of wine that wine writers such as myself tend to then spoil by dissecting. Expect both structure and ripe, round, juicy red and black fruits, an agreeable dose of spice, a touch of Aussie bush gum leaf – the feel of the Australian bush is strong in this wine – and a long ribbon of pepper to close, bringing an added touch of gentle piquancy. Delightful!
