Swinging Bridge Caldwell Lane Reserve Chardonnay 2022

A different take on a reserve quality Chardonnay from the producer compared to its flagship Block 7 Chardonnay. Caldwell Lane is about texture, a lovely, leesy-induced smoothness, which brings a little more depth and width in flavour to the glass. Still, we are talking about Orange fruit and there remains plenty of scintillating acidity in play. Dusty lemon, grapefruit, stone fruits, apple, straw and spice – just a gentle pinch – trail toasted nuts across a buttery smooth palate. It flows easily finishing with a burst of citrus -a cleansing conclusion to a top wine. Another Chardonnay that should not be over-chilled.
