TarraWarra Estate Barbera 2024

Share

Soft in its perfume, this leads with woody spice, cherry, redcurrant and almond before unfurling further with violets, cherry pit and cinnamon quill — varietal character nicely on display. The palate follows with lovely balance, vibrant red fruits and spice intermingling freely. Bing cherry, red apple skin, redcurrant, violets and subtle almond paste are framed by delicate, powdery tannins and a wash of red-fruited acidity to medium length. Fresh, bright and uncomplicated — the most natural aesthetic for this variety, and it works well here. TarraWarra has read the variety correctly — resist the urge to overwork it, and Barbera’s natural vivacity does the rest.
