Tenafeate Creek Wines Basket Press Shiraz 2023

Share

From a selection of four vineyards in the One Tree Hill/Gawler region (Mount Lofty Ranges), the average yield here is a miserable one tonne/acre. After basket pressing, the wine was racked to new (30%) and older French oak hogsheads and puncheons, for a year and a half maturation. A shining purple hue, there is good oak integration here. The wine is already evidencing impressive concentration with notes of sage, chocolate, licorice, blackberries and cloves. Everything in place here – this is refined, has excellent length and very fine tannins. Expect this to see its way through the next decade with ease. There is a tiny hint of bitter almonds on the finish, tying everything together. Lots to like.
