For those who think Sauvignon Blanc is beyond vintage variation, let me introduce Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from the cool, wet 2024 vintage. The tone changes, there is a delicacy on board with ’24, the intensity level is not quite as high and in its place there is a lifted, floral prettiness to the aroma. Spring flowers, honeysuckle, white peach and citrus light up the scent. A mix of ferments in wood and stainless steel bring a creaminess to the palate and while herbals are a feature, they aren’t the main feature, but rather are folded nicely, evenly into citrus, crunchy red apple, peach, melon and spring florals.
