Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Share

Xavier Bizot’s Crayere’s Vineyard in the terra-rossa and limestone country of South Australia’s Wrattonbully region has been a beloved source of the expat French man’s (now SA based) unique expression of Sauvignon Blanc for 17 years, this vintage indicative of the slow ripening the variety is allowed in the cooler south-east corner of the state. Note the 13.9% abv reading as evidence of the level of ripeness and resulting flavour, with a persimmon like note to the fruit, a seasoning of Middle Eastern spices, and quite a savoury, almost chicken tagine like flavour in the palate with plenty of pepper to boot, lengthening the finish an offsetting an underlying pithy acidity. Complex and always an interesting and compelling vinous example of the variety.
