The Lane Gathering Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2023

While Margaret River vignerons may have pioneered this traditional Bordeaux white blend in Australia, there is something to be said about the style produced in the Adelaide Hills. Super pungent and zippy, it speaks of its cool climate home and the kind of kinetic energy and immediate drinkability produced when these two grape varieties meet. Blackcurrant leaf, fresh shelled peas, green bean, citrus and cut grass aromas. Fresh, bright acidity plays a bit of a starring role here, gets the gastric juices working hard. The focus on the palate is on citrus, lime skin, lantana florals and herbals with a kind of Riesling-like citrus vibrancy in the glass.
