Triple Creek Barossa Valley Mataro 2021

Now this is a variety I like to see on its own, just as a point of difference. It obviously is a wonderful component of a blended style like a GSM, but in this case, it really does show its value and qualities. It comes from a small part of the vineyard, and it delivers a wine of generous body, showing a savoury, slightly earthy element with dried herbs complementing the darker ripe fruits. It’s harmoniously seamless with a lovely mix of fine-grained oak and tannins while a little dark chocolate and liqueur cherry fill out the palate. A most attractive wine.
