Tyrrell’s Vat 9 Shiraz 2023

Share

Fruit is sourced from best parcels on the Tyrrell’s Estate Ashmans. Vines are at least 50 years of age. The wine opens with intensity both in pigment and aroma. Bilberries, black cherries and a signature of wild raspberries signed throughout. So, too, are some Kalamata olives, crushed granite and bracken herbs. There is a savoury note of charcoal and Billy tea. A glossy richness but with firm tannins that keep the wine upright and surging forward with juicy licks of fresh acidity. This is beautiful drinking now with anything charred on the bone, lamb ribs, cattleman cut steak but will mature like the ice age, slowly and surely, undressing and revealing its red fruit and subtle spice rack. A very alluring wine, grown and crafted with tenderness and agility.
